  1. So “the guy” is five years younger then me and at first I had an issue with it but then I felt it wasn’t a problem at all, in the end he was the one who had the issue with it as he felt he wanted to be able to provide for me etc and he couldn’t, I would like to point out that I told him always that he gave me exactly what I needed which when we were together he did!! But anyway it is only really since we broke up and things became sour that I noticed where his age came into play, he doesn’t seem to have the emotional intelligence to be able to understand what he has done or how it should be handled (this is something actually that a friend of mine said), or maybe he just doesn’t care!!!

I don’t know if it would stop me in the future from dating someone younger because generally in our relationship it was never an issue.

I do have a question though what are May to December lovers?

    1. He might not have the experience with relationships and all of those things might be true. Some do let age becoming a deciding factor if other things aren’t working within the relationship.

May-December lovers (the dash is just a dash it doesn’t mean to) is just a term used for age-gap relationships. Wikipedia explains it pretty well –

  2. Dear Mary,
I did enjoy your article, and congratulations for being published on Signature 26.
My husband is 14 years older than me, and we have been married 22 years. The most interesting scenario I can share with you. I was visiting my Dad, and when we went out whether to the mall or for a bite to eat I noticed that people did not see a Father and his Daughter. They saw a Senior male with Middle aged woman. My Dad is in his 70’s and I’m in my 40’s. Being in Los Angeles I’m sure that’s nothing new to see a couple with an obvious gap in age. I say what ever floats your boat, and as long as your Happy that’s all that matters.
